Man Beat Two Women He Held Hostage In Atlantic City: Cops

An Atlantic City man was arrested after police say he held two women hostage and beat them inside a home on New Year's Day.

Justin Williams, 39, is facing a dozen charges. They include multiple counts of robbery, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats.

Officers first arrived at a home on North Georgia Avenue just after 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31. They responded to a report of two women held hostage and assaulted by a man they knew.

When officers got to the home, they found one woman who escaped. Williams eventually surrendered to police.

One victim was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City Campus to be treated for her injuries. The other woman declined treatment.

Investigators say Williams threatened to kill the women with a "large knife," assaulted them, and stole their property. A knife was recovered from the scene.

Williams is also charged with criminal restraint, certain person not to possess a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and simple assault. He's being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
